MPD Demonstrators Threw “Lime” Against the Foreign Ministry Building
Yesterday, dozens of supporters of the Popular Democratic Movement (MPD) gathered outside of the Ecuadorian Foreign Ministry (Quito), in rejection of the misuse of the diplomatic bag.
Thus, the complainants threw lime to the front door of the Foreign Ministry building as a simulation of cocaine.
Luis Villacis, National President of Political Organization said the protest action is performed in the absence of results in the research to identify the perpetrators, accomplices and accessories of the crime and to demand the “dismissal” of Foreign Minister Ricardo Patiño.
Because of the incident, the Foreign Ministry had to suspend service to the public for one hour. The Criminal Investigation Police collected evidence of lime to simulate the drug found in the diplomatic suitcase and threw by Government opponents.
