Nadia Mejia talks about her participation in the Miss USA 2016 in TMZ
“I have the same face I had when I answered the question (laughs),” said Nadia Mejia, Miss California to TMZ, when asked about how she felt now after replaying her participation in the Miss USA last Sunday.
The daughter of Ecuadorian singer Gerardo Mejia added, “at the end of the day, I have 20 years, I´m not a politician, and that is a problem currently faced by candidates and they do not know how to solve it. I can not be hard on myself. I was among the 5 finalists.”
She explained that she had prepared to respond on current issues but that question surprised her by being a lifelong problem that can not be solved with one answer and much less in 30 seconds.
One of the interviewers asked a question about Donald Trump and his position against Latinos, to which she replied: “I think Donald Trump should stop the race car of racial segregation against Latinos. I’m half Latina and I am proud to be Ecuadorean and I disagree with him.”
Nadia will continue with her career as a full time model and spokeswoman for the National Eating Disorders Association, inspiring thousands of teenagers with her story.
