National Assembly accepted the resignation of María Alejandra Vicuña

The plenary session of the National Assembly accepted on Thursday morning the resignation presented by María Alejandra Vicuña to the position of vice president, to defend herself against accusations that linked her to theso-called “Diezmos case”
By unanimity of 94 assembly members present, the request was accepted.
The Minister of Government, María Paula Romo, visited on Thursday the president of the Assembly, Elizabeth Cabezas, to deliver the document signed by the first president Lenin Moreno with the names to nominate the new vice president.
Romo said that they expect the legislature to accept the resignation of María Alejandra Vicuña, to immediately give the names of the shortlist. Moreno announced today as candidates for Otto Sonnenholzner Sper, Nancy Vasco Noboa and Agustín Guillermo Albán Maldonado.

After receiving the document, Elizabeth Cabezas highlighted the nomination of Otto Sonnenholzner as the first of the short list, because he said that he is just a young entrepreneur, trained and linked to the media. “The experience is important to pay for the policy of reactivation, employment in our country,” he said.
Other parliamentarians such as Fabricio Villamar (CREO) and Luis Fernando Torres(PSC) announced their support for the list sent by the president.
