National Communications Secretary talks about the “arrogance” of Ecuavisa
Fernando Alvarado, National Secretary of Communication of the Presidency of the Republic, said that Ecuavisa showed a “level of arrogance” by expressing their displeasure for having to transmit the Political Pulse TV program of TC Television.
“In my opinion, is the level of arrogance Ecuavisa has always had… With accepted invitations by the President, requested by different programs in that media, the final decision of its most senior executives was to veto the President and they banned those interviews”, Alvarado said yesterday in an interview with Ecuadorinmediato.
Before transmitting the program Ecuavisa issued a statement clarifying that the program directed by Carlos Rabascall was broadcast by an imposition of the National Secretariat of Communication (SECOM for its Spanish acronym).
According to Alvarado, as a government, they are “forced to create spaces of communication for people to be informed” which would justify, according to him, the disposition imposed.
