NATO Starts Summit Amidst Protests

Yesterday the NATO officially declared the beginning of the first phase of the antimissile shield destined to protect Europe from the Middle East, particularly from Iran.
“Defend against missiles is indispensable. We face real threats,” said the general secretary of NATO, Anders Fogh Rasmussen before the beginning of the XXV Summit of the Alliance hosted in Chicago, United States.
Leaders of the 28 country members stated that the official initial phase has concluded. Their objective its to deploy a new defence system in four stages from here to 2018-2020.
The United States president Barack Obama said in the Summit that the world supports the strategy to end the war in Afghanistan. He also warned that there could be tough days in the future. (AV)
