New label regulations will be applied to textiles

Textiles will have new labels
Starting next December 7, 2013, the textile labeling rules will change, so says Javier Diaz Crespo, CEO of the Association of Industrial Textiles from Ecuador (Aite).
Now the composition of the garment will have a tolerance of the material used, this was not applied before, where the percentages should be accurate otherwise it was considered a failure.
According to the RTE Rules 2013, exhibited in June this year, it was a modifying the force since April 2007. Now all national manufacturers and importers of clothing shall add the RUC (Registro Unico del Contribuyente-Taxpayer) in the respective permanent label of their product.
Moreover, the publication in the Official Registry, on Friday November 29, the International Health Labeling Processed foods, also began to rush the process and deadlines for complying with its provisions.
The regulation sets forth until May 2014 with large and medium enterprises, and until November 2014, for small and micro enterprises to identify the contents of their food in fat, sugar and salt through a graphical system with colour bars arranged horizontal.
It is expected that the Ministry of Health, sets the relevant regulations issued sanctions for February 2014.
