New York legislators talk about immigrant children
State Legislators of New York yesterday held a session in New York to listen to people and organizations involved in the issue of increasing undocumented children who arrive to the United States alone.
During this hearing, members of the Assembly expressed their willingness to take actions to ensure that minors enjoy of the best possible conditions.
Representatives of voluntary organizations that provide legal and all types assistance to the children, requested to the Assembly an investment of at least $ 24 million to carry out the necessary work.
The President of the State Assembly, Sheldon Silver, said after the meeting held in New York: “The Assembly commits to find the best way to help these children who have come here to face extraordinary difficulties and uncertainties, and seeking help from their families on the path to a better life”.
