Between 20 and 30 thousand forms submitted by the NGO, Frente Total de Defensa de la Amazonía, which proposes a referendum to avoid all types of extractive activities, were discarded by the Electoral National Council (CNE), due to the lack of copies of certificates from collectors.
The Vice President of the CNE, Paul Salazar, said that the NGO representatives will be notified today.
Each sheet contains eight headings, i.e. between 160 and 240 thousands of the 600 thousand signatures delivered last April 9 were rejected, when its period of six months overcame.
David Iniguez, spokesman of `Frente Total de Defensa de la Amazonía´, said that he expected today the notification from the CNE to take actions, but said he is aware of what happened and the results obtained in the process of the forms manual verification.
