Nicaragua will Chair a “Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba”

The president of Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega, will chair today a “Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba” to be held in Managua, as confirmed by the presidential spokesman, Rosario Murillo.
Murillo, Coordinator of Communication and Citizenship Council, did not explain whether this is the cause for which Ortega decided to suspend his trip to Cartagena, Colombia, to attend the Sixth Summit of the Americas, in which is not present Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez for health reasons.
In brief telephone conversation with an official radio station, Murillo reported that Ortega will be expressng in Saturday afternoon the solidarity of the Nicaraguan towards the Cuban people, to whom we ” appreciate a lot due to their continuing solidarity.” (FL)
