Posted On 05 May 2011

After killing the United States public enemy, president Barack Obama visited ground zero in New York during the afternoon, were on September 11 of 2001, the Twin towers were destroyed. Some 2,800 civilians lost their life in the terrorist attack performed by Osama bin Laden and members of Al Qaeda.

Obama waited four days after the operation Geronimo performed by Seal forces found and killed bin Laden who was hidden in the Pakistani city of Abbotabad. Exactly at seven o’clock, Obama set a crown of flowers in the location, after remaining in silence for several minutes. The president hugged and talked with many of the victims relatives.

The mourning ceremony was held at the shadow of the only surviving tree that survived the destruction in ground zero. President Obama also visited a fire department nearby, afterwards he moved to a police station located in the Tribeca neighborhood. The population claimed that the visit of Obama was really positive, since the American people have been waiting ten years for some justices. This event pushes the American pride, however, Obama had previously announced that the pictures of a dead bin Laden will not be shown because it could affect the National Security.
