After the rectification of Xavier Bonilla, Bonil, published yesterday in El Universo Newspaper, to the cartoon about the raid carried out in the home of Fernando Villavicencio, Carlos Ochoa, superintendent of Communication, was in accordance  with the action of the cartoonist and the newspaper.

“I think it’s great that both El Universo Newspaper, as Bonil comply with the law,” Ochoa indicated to the public channel EcuadorTV.

He added that the way in which Bonilla rectified  “was part of the cartoon … In one way or, to express with another language what happened. ”

Yesterday concluded the 72 hour-deadline gave by the Superintendent of Communication (Supercom) to  Bonil to rectify a phrase of his drawing and for the newspaper to deposit in a bank account, a penalty equal to the 2% of its turnover in the last quarter.

Ochoa stressed that the money will go to the national treasury for “more education and roads system.”
