Today, Oprah Winfrey revealed on her program “The Oprah Winfrey Show” that she has a half-sister. Patricia, a woman from Milwaukee whose last name was not published, was given up for adoption by Winfrey’s mother, Vernita, because she felt she would not be able to give her a good life.
Patricia, who appeared on Winfrey’s show, said she grew up in foster homes since she was seven. She found out she was Winfrey’s sister in 2007 but she kept it a secret because she did not want to alarm medias.
