Other Ecuadorian died by drowning in Spain
An Ecuadorian of 38 years old drowned in a pond located in the town of Luesia, Zaragoza, where he was accompanied by his wife and son, he is the third Ecuadorian victim of drowning in Spain in recent days, since last Saturday two minors died in similar circumstances in the Valmayor reservoir.
The Civil Guard of Zaragoza reported yesterday that the tragedy happened on Sunday at about 16 h 40 (local time) when they were warned them that the subject had thrown into the water with his son, but only the child emerged to the surface.
A Civil Guard patrol, as well as the Ad Hoc group of Underwater Activities (GEAS) and an emergency helicopter, moved to the place, where they were able to retrieve the body, hours later.
The minors, Diana of 13 years old and Joseline of 14, which were cousins, had family in Guayaquil, in the cooperative Independence 1 of the Trinitaria Island, and until yesterday they were expecting news about when the bodies would be repatriated for their wake and burial.
In Madrid, the National Secretariat of the migrants (Senami) offered support to the family for the repatriation of the bodies of the children, but not for the travel of the parents. “With the help of compatriots we’re trying to raise money so we can all go to the burial”, said Rosalino, father of Joseline.
