Pato Urrutia says goodbye to soccer
Patricio Urrutia or better known by its supporters as “El Pato”, Liga de Quito’s experienced midfielder announced on Tuesday his retirement from professional soccer when the first stage of the Ecuadorian Tournament ends.
Pato Urrutia, who was captain of Liga de Quito and with whom he won the Libertadores Cup in the 2008, the Re-Cup in 2009, and several national titles, played in several clubs.
He started playing for LDU after a 2002 in BSC where his participation was scarce. In 2003 he made his debut with the albos and only left the club when he was requested by foreign clubs.
Urrutia is also remembered for his great goal, playing for the tricolor national team, to Argentina in the Monumental Stadium of River Plate within the qualifiers of South American to South Africa 2010.
