Pedro Delgado Admits he Does Not Have and Economist Title and Subsequently resigned
During a press conference showed on state television ‘Ecuador TV’, the cousin of the Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa, announced his resignation as chairman of the Central Bank of Ecuador and UGEDEP representative.
Delgado acknowledged that he delivered a worthless college degree 22 years ago to Incae.
“Now I’m paying the price,” said while apologizing to his wife, government and citizenship. “I made a mistake. I made a decision that was a foul that cost me dearly today. I delivered a document without a title value that did not hold any value. I kept this a secret,”he said.
During the Saturdays broadcast from November 24, the Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa defended his cousin and reaffirmed its support to today who led the board of the Central Bank.
“Now it turns out he does not have an economist title and that in order to be president of the Central Bank an economist title is needed. Everything is a lie. It does not take an economist title to be president of the Central Bank, and Pedro Delgado has a master’s degree in Business Economics, a fourth level degree to which he earned when he graduated from the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador,”said the head of state.
