Pedro Delgado Called his Lie a Mistake
During a televised statement, Pedro Delgado used three minutes and fifteen seconds to explain the reasons for his resignation from his position as chairman of the Central Bank Board and other positions he held in the government of his cousin, President Rafael Correa.
After presenting his irrevocable resignation in a press conference held at the Ministery of Communications (Secom), which did not allow questions from the press. Delgado called his lie of 22 years ago as “a mistake“, an “act of immaturity.”
Delgado had given the Central American Institute of Business Administration (INCAE) falsified documents in order to obtain a bachelor’s title of fourth level. “The Incae received a worthless title that of a degree that he did not hold,” said Delgado.
