Pedro Delgado’s Attorney says his client was forced to confess his crime

Carmigniani discusses with Cely
Recent statements by Juan Carlos Carmigniani, lawyer of former President of Central Bank of Ecuador, Pedro Delgado, published via his Twitter account (@ jcarmig1) that his client was “forced” to give a press conference on 19 December in which he confessed the forgery of his title to earn the masters degree of economist.
In the tweet of Carmigniani, he mentioned the official account of the Ambassador of Ecuador in the United States, Nathalie Cely, causing the prompt response of the diplomat.
The jurist justified the error of his client, saying he committed it when he was a student and not official. When Cely answered, the lawyer said: “My client has informed me that the government knew about it, before the famous press conference.”
Then the ambassador asked Carmigniani if the government “knew of the lie before starting the investigation with Incae.” The lawyer said that the only one who can answer that is his client. Given this response Cely ended with a “have a nice day.”
Juan Carlos Carmigniani announced through the famous social network that in the coming days there will be a press conference where all “the secrets of Delgado topic” will be revealed.
