Petroamazonas will use New Drilling System

The Oil Company, Petroamazonas, will launch a new drilling system, since next August, for oil extraction, which seeks to increase production and reduce environmental impact.
Petroamazonas drilling manager, Moisés Cevallos, said in an interview with EFE, that the technique is 96% effective and has already been used in Venezuela, the North Sea and China.
The oil company Halliburton, from the U.S., has been contracted to implement the new system in Ecuador, in a contractual arrangement that includes technology transfer.
With this pilot project, Petroamazonas aims to increase 20,000 barrels a day in production, currently about its production goes around 150,000 barrels per day, 30% of total production in the country. (MZ)
