Petroecuador’s general manager Carlos Pareja announced that the public company will dismiss workers that do not cooperate. And so far 301 employees have been dismissed.
“The decline in oil prices has severely impacted all oil companies in the world, and we are no exception. Therefore we have to make adjustments specially in “Super” gas, we import that gas and subsidize it and moreover, we commercialize it cheaper than other distributors.”
“We are in a process of adjustment, and that’s worldwide. In the US oil companies have dismissed around 300,000 people. In Petroecuador we have fired 301 people to date, in three months.
