Phone Numbers and Euros Underneath Bin Laden’s Cloths at the Time of His Death

Posted On 04 May 2011

As reported by CBS and the Politic magazine, the leader of Al Qaeda, Osama bin Laden, had sewn and hidden €500 ($ 750) in cash and two phone numbers beneath his clothes at the time of his death.

The revelation suggests that bin Laden was preparing an escape at any time, in case of a U.S. military attack, as eventually happened.

This information was made public; following a meeting held by the CIA director, Leon Panetta, along with congressional leaders. In this, legislators asked Panetta why the leader of Al Qaeda had such a few security personnel at the residence where he lived. Panetta responded that Bin Laden believed that “his security was so strong that he could escape before there would be any U.S. incursion.”

Meanwhile, the White House is considering whether finally broadcast images taken from the body of Bin Laden, which Panetta himself has been agreeing.

“I think it’s important because people know that we have, which may spread”, said yesterday in a television interview.
