The nomination of sectional candidates and the analysis of potential alliances have caused friction between the various groups of Alianza Pais in Guayas, but is in the canton Milagro where the struggles are most evident. Thus, last Saturday, when candidate names were given, questions and accusations were raised.
Pierina Correa, sister of the leader of the regime, who is one of the seven members of the Political Council of Alianza Pais in Guayas, in her capacity as director of the Alianza PCD, criticized the participation of Assemblywoman Denise Robles and Sports Minister Jose Francisco Cevallos.
Cevallos was promoted by the Civic Power City (PCC), directed by Antonio Gagliardo. Robles is from Citizen Struggle Front (FLC), led by Nicolas Issa Wagner.
“He had given an official list, in paper. Denisse Robles handed in the event a blank paper, which had a list printed and put a hand ‘Struggle Front’. That lady is not part of the Political Council and is not authorized to give any list,” said Correa.
The sister of Rafael Correa criticized those who already hold elected office for trying to run for another office. “It is not appropriate or ethical. If the people voted for them as assembly, responsibility is to go to the Assembly to do their job.”
The regime leader said he did not share the criticism of his sister on the Minister and maintained that there are no divisions in Guayas.
