Police Force dismantles drug trafficking network linked to Sinaloa cartel
Posted On 07 Jun 2013
Interior Minister, Jose Serrano, reported today that the Ecuadorian Police dismantled a drug trafficking network yesterday, presumably related to the Sinaloa Cartel (Mexico), in an operation in which seven people were arrested and 300 kilos of cocaine were seized.
“We just dismantled an organized crime gang that presumably worked along with the Sinaloa cartel, six detainees and their leader Telmo Castro” a former captain of the army which in 2009 was brought to trial on charges of drug trafficking, and pleaded not guilty, said Serrano through his Twitter account.
During the operation, which according to Serrano, was “a key blow to drug trafficking”, were seized, along with drugs, a plane and grenades.
