Ponce aims to attract one tourist for each Ecuadorian
Ecuadornews:

The Foreign Policy Agenda 2017-2021 to promote and attract investment on various fronts, began to be implemented yesterday by the sectoral group made up of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, Tourism, and Culture, as part of the National Development Plan.
Foreign Minister María Fernanda Espinosa said that the agenda aims to turn Ecuador into a tourist power, as well as an exporter of high-quality goods and services. To achieve this, the government will work together with the private sector, paying special attention to the actors of the popular and solidarity economy, with a view to inserting them in the international markets. Heritage and cultural diversity will also be promoted.
For his part, Minister of Tourism Enrique Ponce de León said that the body that directs the activities to be developed around three goals: boosting national tourism; attracting foreign tourists, and external investments for the sector. To that end, the goal of the Tourism Ministry is to attract a foreign visitor per every Ecuadorian inhabitant. “We expect at least 16 million tourists,” De León said, emphasizing this is a long-term process.
