Popular Bread will Sell at $ 0.13 per Unit

The Bakers Association of Guayaquil discussed the possible increase in the bread´s price  $ 0.10 to $ 0.13. They say the cost of materials for making of bread are expensive.
According to Manuel Rodas, vice president of the guild, the sugar shortage and the flour quintal price  have influenced in raising. So, now it´s hard to us keeping the same price.

In July 2008, the Bakers Federation signed with the Government an agreement in order to to keep the price of bread at $ 0.10. However, these prices have increased, “said Rodas.

“Everything is more expensive,  butter is already more than $ 80 tank of 50 kilos, the sugar was $ 28 now is at $ 31. We have a table of values, we’ve got prices and the least we have to raise bread is 13 cents, “concluded the union representative.
