President Correa inaugurated energy projects in Galapagos
President Rafael Correa inaugurated on December 22 energy projects, an airport and a hospital in the Galapagos Islands.
He toured the Santa Cruz island as part of the opening events of the Baltra wind projects, Puerto Ayora photovoltaic ptoject and the Transmission System Baltra-Santa Cruz, which are part of the government initiative Zero Fossil Fuels in Galapagos.
The Puerto Ayora project, located in the San Cristobal Island, was built with the support of nearly 10 million dollars from the International Cooperation Agency of Korea, KOICA.
The last tour was carried out at the new basic hospital Oskar Jandl, where 154 professionals work and there are 34 beds, including 7 for neonatology. The nursing home has emergency service, general medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, dermatology, endocrinology, physical medicine, neonatology, occupational medicine and legal medicine.
