Professionals call for better security measures in the reconstruction of the Santay Island bridge

After the government´s announced on the repair of the affected section of the pedestrian bridge that connects Guayaquil and the Santay Island, practitioners who help captains navigate the area believe it is necessary to improve security and signaling the new bridge.

Leaders of the Association of Practitioners of Guayaquil advised four years ago, in a letter sent to the Directorate of Aquatic Spaces, that the bridge should be built in another place because of navigability and maneuverability risks in the docks area. (I)
