Appliances manufacturers and stores register a fall of between 10% and 40% in sales of gas cookers. For this reason they have been forced to create promotions to achieve the output of these products.
The offers ranking from discounts of 20% in the final price, passing through the coupon delivery for the free filling of the 15 kilos cylinder, until a free rice and sugar arroba for the purchase of a gas cooker.
The reduction in sales of these cookers is explained by the expectation generated by the Government to start selling electric induction cookers from August. The objective of this measure is that the population stops using subsidized gas.
Mario Rosero, Concresa Manager, an appliances store, notes that the sale of gas stoves fell a 41% between January and May 2014, compared to the same period of the last year.
