Pronobis will request an investment contract for Karibao, a real estate project in Engabao, Playas

Posted On 30 May 2020

The law firm Marcelo Bodero & Asociados will be in charge of presenting the request for an investment contract for $ 400 million for the Karibao real estate project , from Pronobis , to the Ministry of Production.

Pronobis will request an investment contract for Karibao, a real estate project in Engabao, Playas

This is a previous step that companies carry out to sign a contract with the State and that at the same time generates tax stability, says Marcelo Bodero, founding partner and president of the law firm.

Article 1 of the resolution of the Strategic Committee for the Promotion and Attraction of Investments (Cepai) establishes the minimum amount (one million dollars) to invest as a requirement for signing an investment contract.

” The next step is that the State carries out a series of analyzes related to investment, flow, where it comes from, generation of labor, analyzes everything and concludes whether the petition is submitted to Cepai, which decides whether or not to sign the contract. “Explains Bodero.

The Karibao housing project was paralyzed for a month and a half due to the health emergency, but it has already been reactivated. This will have high, medium and low density buildings, in a space of 51 hectares. Its construction began two years ago in Engabao, Playas.

Bodero indicates that the request measures different tax, labor and even environmental variables. This is because the project will implement a photovoltaic park with a battery accumulator for the use of renewable energy.

Karibao will be a macro project divided into two stages.

The first will be made up of an exclusive hotel, apartment towers, housing developments, restaurants, the crystalline lagoon that hopes to be the largest in the country, and recreational areas, such as beach tennis courts, volleyball, soccer, and bicycle lanes.

” It is a very important and visionary bet (…). Entrepreneurs are still betting on the country, rethinking in an exceptional situation, but they are sacrificing themselves, fighting to stay in the markets, ”says Bodero, adding that direct and indirect jobs will be generated. (I)
