Putin congratulates Russian hockey team

Despite Saturday’s loss against the United States, Russian President Vladimir Putin said this Monday that the Russian ice hockey team is the “best” of the Olympic Games in Sochi.

“I think our hockey team is not only one of the best but rather I think it’s the best tournament,” Putin said, quoted by Ria Novosti agency.

After a hotly contested match against the United States, the Russian team fell on Saturday on penalties (3-2).

The Russian players and the coach said that the arbitrage had harmed them because they annulled a goal in the third quarter.
