Rafael Correa asked the SENAIN to investigate Twitter accounts
Ecuadorian President and candidate for re-election, Rafael Correa, ordered the National Intelligence Secretariat (SENAIN for its Spanish acronym) to investigate three Twitter accounts.
@Felix_macay, who allegedly insulted Correa and also published an infographic on advertising expenditures of his reelection campaign. in response, Correa published: “SENAIN: Please investigate this rude person who insults the President with a license.” In the afternoon, the citizen’s account was closed.
Also, the twitter @henryalcivar published a critic about the government management and said that he was intimidated by Correa. “I didn’t insult him, I just gave him my opinion,” replied the twitter user. The user @ml_quintana3 referred to the drug trafficking in Ecuador and, after Correa mentioned it, the twitter account was also closed.
