Region with low presence of presidents in Arab summit

Rafael Correa of Ecuador, and Nicolas Maduro of Venezuela are the only Latin American heads of state attending the IV Summit of South American-Arab Countries (ASPA), held until today in Saudi Arabia (Middle East).
The meeting, which opened yesterday in the capital Riyadh, seeks to strengthen cooperation between the blocks, made up of 22 countries of the Arab League and 12 of UNASUR, in that order.
he delegations of the region are represented by “officers with minor power,” published yesterday the Arab News news website, when reporting that King Salman bin Abdulaziz received different delegations at the international airport.
