Regulatory council instigates Media for its content

Posted On 11 Sep 2013

Last Monday the Regulatory Council urged the media to comply with Article 71 of the Organic Law of Communication on ” common responsibilities” in the dissemination of information.

“It is worrying the repetitive publications with sexist content against women, systematically and permanently”, said the Council, referring, especially to newspaper “Extra”.

The council also said that it also happens with the “treatment of policentro blotter news related to gender violence, publishing bloody events and scandals without deepening the causes,  the historical and social context of the event or the corresponding follow up through investigative journalism. “
