Rice production increased by 3% compared to last year

According to a research of the agricultural sector by the Central Bank by the Ecuador (BCE for its Spanish acronym), this year’s winter rice production grew by 3%, in contrast to the 2% decline of last year.
The sown are in the quarter under analysis was higher for the 15% of farmers surveyed in the provinces of Manabi, Guayas, Los Ríos, Loja, El Oro and Canar. 76% of respondents considered it stayed the same; and 9% lower.
54% of farmers under study indicated they made a greater investment, while 27% made no investments, and 19% maintained their level, according to of the BCE figures.
