Safety standards are not met at gas stations

Security measures that the drivers must comply when buying fuel, normally are not met by all users. Is notorious that four basic safety instructions to prevent accidents are ignored.

This, regarding to the explosion of the gas station located in the ring of Atahualpa, south of Quito, where there were 11 people wounded, including 6 workers of the station.

During a survey carried out to gas stations of the same sector, almost a third of users ignore the warning to stay inside the car while provisioning. Other users say that when they get to the gas station they have the habit of not turning off the engine and use the phone, things established by safety standards.

Despite the fact that fuel stations have precautions signposting to warn the dangers of contravening the safety standards, there are people that ignore them, resulting in a risk to the users.
