Salaries of employees Claro and Movistar will be defined on Tuesday
The National Council of Salaries (Conades for its Spanish acronym) met yesterday to define the 2015 salaries for workers in the mobile phone companies. However, so far there was no consensus.
Jaime Arciniega, workers’ representative to the Conades, said in yesterday’s meeting that the expectations of employees of telephone companies about their salaries were raised.
“We still need you to make a detailed analysis (…) On Tuesday we will meet in the city of Guayaquil and then define the issue of salaries for mobile phone companies,” he said.
Arciniega said that “scattered salaries” would exist in telephone companies, and the average, in the case of Movistar, would be of $ 728; while in Claro would be at around USD 522. “Movistar has a higher wage than Claro, therefore, we are going to set a wage to at least standardize the minimum,” he said.
Arciniega said that the basic wage in this sector would be around USD 680, being this “an industry with high incomes.”
