Samborondón will host the ‘Golden Cup 2017’

More than 100 coffee farmers in the country will participate in the 11th Special Coffee Contest ‘Golden Cup 2017‘ (Arabian variety). The event will be held on October 5 at the premises of the Espíritu Santo University (UEES), in Samborondón (Guayas).
The event, organized by the National Association of Coffee Exporters (Anecafé) and the Institute for Promotion of Exports and Investments (ProEcuador), aims to reward the best national grain harvest.
The executive director of ProEcuador Roberto Intriago said that the event judges would come from Chile, China, South Korea, Denmark, the United States and the United States.
“ProEcuador, in partnership with the private sector, works to position the industry in the world for its quality,” said Intriago. Vinicio Dávila, director of the ‘Taza Dorada’ event, stated that the success of the contest has been great in these ten years and “today, this Ecuadorian product is sold in the best coffee shops and supermarkets in the world.”
“There will be world-renowned judges, who are experts and know about tasting and coffee auctions,” said Dávila. Registration for participating in the event will close on 15th of this month. (I)
