Santiago Roldós gathers in a book 6 theatrical texts that he will present in Quito

Posted On 20 Nov 2018

Ecuadornews:

Theplaywright and director Santiago Roldós has brought together in a book sixtheatrical texts that have been published by El Fakir Ediciones under the titleToys close to violence.

The presentation of this work will be held on Tuesday, November 20, at 7:00 pm, at the Humboldt Association (Vancouver and Poland), and will be commented by Cristina Burneo, Romina Muñoz and Gabriela Ponce, in the company of the author.

The texts that are gathered are “Words against silence”, “Karaoke empty orchestra”, “Small trial of loneliness”, “From the vulnerability of our small big companies”, “Elizabeta the little princess in skateboards” and “The most sad of the universe. ” With prologue by the Mexican researcher and director Rubén Ortiz and epilogue of the Argentine-Ecuadorian actor, playwright and director Arístides Vargas, “the volume brings together some of the best-known works of Muégano Teatro; texts written especially for the Rumiñahui Association of Spain and the UmaMinga group of Argentina; and works arising from the dramaturgy of the map and theater for children understood as a workshop for beginners, “says a statement.

This book was presented at the last Guayaquil Book Fair, where the professor and critic Jeaninne Zambrano intervened. “It seems to me an extraordinary opportunity to have printed the rabid and delicate texts of Santiago Roldós, arising from the vital and committed practice of Muégano Teatro.

So collective are that, as the playwright Aristides Vargas says in the prologue, in several texts Santiago extends the authorship to the members of Muégano. And so dialectic is this work that Arístides Vargas himself maintains that they feel the indelible presence of Pilar Aranda. I fully agree, “said Zambrano.

Thecriticism added that the collected texts “are very heterogeneous, dissimilar and, at the same time, very similar to each other. This is not acontradiction. Because the rupture of senses that he proposes is his mainthread and his wealth “. (I)
