Shakira will Sing at the VI Summit of the Americas
Shakira, who will be the lead voice in the opening of the Sixth Summit of the Americas on Saturday, is now in Colombia.
Local newspapers published photos of the arrival of the “Ojos Asi” and “Loca” singer to her native Barranquilla, a city about 100 kilometers from Cartagena, on Wednesday night aboard her private plane.
Her publicist, Rodrigo Beltran, even distributed the singer’s agenda during her visit to Cartagena.
The “big day” for Shakira, however, will be on Saturday when she will be singing the national anthem of Colombia at the official opening of the Summit.
On Sunday, the closing day of the presidential meeting she will have a meeting with U.S. President Barack Obama, who last year appointed a presidential commission that seeks to improve the educational levels of Hispanics in the U.S.
Besides Shakira, the cultural program of the Summit includes, among others, the vallenato singer Carlos Vives, the Sextet Tabalá of African roots and the group of circus rave room and Cali. (FL)
