Gerard Piqué and Shakira made their relationship public last night. The Barcelona player has posted on his Twitter and Facebook account a photo of both celebrating their birthday with friends.
The first photo of the couple was spotted on Saturday night in Barcelona, where Piqué and Shakira celebrated their birthday party. Two days earlier, he had met 24 years and she 34.
Persons associated with the couple assured that they have made public the picture seeking to reduce the media pressure they live, which affects their professional lives.
The Colombian singer had assured from early January that she would “tell the facts that had been happening slowly.” In five weeks Shakira made official through her Website the break of her relationship with her boyfriend of all life, Antonio de la Rua; last week she also unveiled that the singer had rented a house at Bellaterra, where she plans to live the most part of the year.
The couple met before the South Africa World Cup. Piqué participated in the video recording of Waka Waka, which became the anthem of the competition. Since then the couple began to meet discreetly, because both held other relationships. She and De la Rúa and he with a Barcelona´s interior decorator. The dates took place in Catalonia, with the excuse that Shakira’s sister lives there, and in Ibiza, where Piqué spent part of his summer vacation. Shifts in the singer’s private jet have given to the couple the privacy they sought at first. Now, according to their inner circle, they will live without hiding their relationship, but without showing it in excess. “First they have to be sure of what they feel” they explain.
