Silvio Berlusconi will serve a year at a nursing facility
Posted On 15 Apr 2014
On Tuesday the court of Milan, which had to rule on whether the former prime minister of Italy, Silvio Berlusconi, gets house arrest or community service, decided that the sentence will consist in caring for the elderly in a nursing home for almost a year, at least once a week and then he must return home before 11 pm.
Berlusconi was convicted last 2013 to four years in prison for a crime of tax fraud involving 7.5 million euros on the sale of television rights. Later his sentence was reduced to one year in prison with option to house arrest or community service.
The former minister has 10 days to accept the sentence.
