Snowden leaks cause discomfort to David Cameron
Last Thursday British Prime Minister David Cameron, was disappointed and called upon the media to stop publishing sensitive information leaked by former intelligence contractor Edward Snowden.
The British Government was embarrassed and angered many lawmakers from the ruling Conservative Party after the disclosure of the activities of the British intelligence agency, GCHQ, and their cooperation with the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA, for its acronym in English).
Cameron told a parliamentary committee he was “concerned about the damage that Snowden has done to our security.” “I would encourage the newspapers that are ceaselessly with this I think before we act because we are in grave danger of making (the situation) less safe for us.”
Likewise, the Foreign Office announced this week that the director of GCHQ, will resign at year’s end. This electronic surveillance agency have been named in some of the leaks Snowden.
