For next Wednesday, September 16 a new demonstration called by social, trade union and indigenous organizations against government policies is being prepared.
They also evaluate different measures to be implemented in October and November in order to prevent the enacment of the draft constitutional amendments that processed by the National Assembly.
The prefect of Zamora Chinchipe, Salvador Quishpe, is visiting some provinces to “reflect on the current situation of the country” on issues such as trade and economic crises, in addition to preparing for the protests. He was yesterday in Guayaquil.
He recalled that the day before of that national mobilization an assembly for the dignity will be held in El Arbolito park, in Quito, to set the guidelines of the marches.
Thus, they will also plan actions against the amendments, which may be sit-ins, the takeober of squares or assemblies,” all this will be decided in conjunction with the leadership.”
In September 14 a meeting of pensioners and different social organizations will take place to discuss the issue of social security. To these sessions will join the National Coordinator of Retired Teachers, which includes retirees of the Armed Forces, National Police and the Ecuadorian Social Security Institute (IESS), who are also preparing for the mobilizations.
