Solca hospital of Quito suspends attention

Several patients who were scheduled today to get treatment in the hospital of Solca in Quito will have to come back another day, because  the doctors  decided to  not attend outpatients.

The reason for the stoppage would be  in rejection to the Criminal Code, which criminalizes medical malpractice. However, doctors said the suspension of attention only will be for today.

Also was added the announcement of the Metropolitan, private hospital, to suspend their consultations, but they did not specify when concretely the activities will be stopped. It is possible that the doctors perform a march to the Ministry of Health.

For his part, President Rafael Correa said they are willing to hire doctors from abroad. On Saturday even ordered the preparation of an instruction in order to include foreign doctors in the public system.
