South Korea elected its first female president in its history

The daughter of former military ruler of South Korea won the presidential election today, making her the first female head of state in the country.
The 60 year-old conservative, Park Geun-hye will return to the presidential palace in Seoul where she served as first lady of his father in the 1970s, after a gunman supported by North Korea killed Park’s mother.
With over 88 % of the votes counted, Park won a tight match with 51.6 %.
