Spain will request that Colombian and Peruvian people may enter the EU without a visa
Spanish President Mariano Rajoy, will request the European Commission and the other Member States of the Schengen area, which allows free movement of people between 26 European countries, that Colombia and Peru may join the group of Latin American states that have free trade agreementse with the European Union (EU) and do not require visas.
The benefit decision made by Rajoy, was communicated by telephone to the Colombian president, Juan Manuel Santos, and Peruvian President Ollanta Humala, plus they reviewed bilateral relations and highlighted the “good status” of such relations.

The Spanish president also admitted that his country wants to be an “active and committed observer state” to the Pacific Alliance, formed by Colombia, Chile, Mexico, Costa Rica and Peru. Peruvian President also highlighted the decision of his Spanish counterpart, to be a synonymous of the good image of Peru in the international frame.
On the other hand, Ecuador, through its ambassador in Spain, Aminta Buenaño, said that relations between Ecuador and the EU also remain stable.
