Spain would regulate Immigrants with Spanish Children
According to the project of regulation Immigration Law, the Spanish government would regularize undocumented foreigners whose children were born in Spain. This new bill called immigrant family detention might grant resident permits to the parents of the minor as long as the child.
The secretary of the Immigration State, Ana Terron, informed during a press conference that the final document would be ready in two months. This regulation could detain the arrival of immigrants who come to work in the country during the current employment crisis. The bill limits to the arrival of family elders with more than 65 years, and the immigrant that requests it will only receive five years of legal residency.
Terron informed that the new regulation is based on the culture of stability and with the work market. This bill favors the social integration of immigrants. Other laws state that undocumented women that suffer from abuse will receive a residence permit of five years that could be made permanent if requested previously, sons of these women automatically receive the temporal permit.
