Spanish Academy Releases New Grammar Book
This morning, the Royal Spanish Academy publicly presented the book “Ortografía Básica” (Basic Grammar) in front of more than two hundred students from 13 to 14 year old.
This version is shorter, simpler and didactic than the larger version, but with the same rules.
“The spelling is the code that best reflects the unity of language,” said Salvador Gutierrez, coordinator of this project.
This shortened version has already been two months on sale in Spain, while in Mexico its recently available. Colombia and Argentina are the next countries to sale this book. In the remaining countries it would distributed progressively. Its price is around $ 17.60.
“Spelling basic Spanish language” has 228 and is much more manageable than the official one. As Salvador Gutierrez said, is “for the general public” and to become “an essential spelling, in which nothing above and nothing is missing: they are all necessary precepts spelling” to write Spanish properly.
