Spanish Royal House will be subjected to external audit
King Philip VI of Spain decided to submit the accounts of the Royal House to an external audit from next year, prepare a code of conduct for its members and regulate the gifts that the royal family receive.
According to reports from sources of the House of the King this Monday, Philip VI will continue receiving the same salary he had as Prince of Asturias until end of the year, and his father, King Juan Carlos, will also retain the value of the remuneration decided for this year from the global allocation approved by Parliament.
The House of the the King has allocated EUR 7.77 million (about 10.56 million U.S. dollars) this year from the state budget.
As part of the changes are the new composition of the Royal Family which will be composed by Philip VI and his wife Letizia, King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia, Princess of Asturias Leonor and Princess Sofia, none of whom shall engage in any activity that is not institutional.
