“Spartacus” Has A New Lead Star
Posted On 15 Sep 2011
The sudden death of Andy Whitfield, the actor who starred in “Spartacus: Blood and Sand”, forced producers to choose his official replacement, Liam McIntyre.
McIntyre has appeared in several Australian short-films and he also participated in a TV series called ‘The Pacific’.
This Australian actor, 29, had received the proposal to star Spartacus in January since Whitfield’s cancer did not allow him to continue with his warrior role in the series.
“I feel a great happiness, but at the same time it’s tough to know that Andy had to leave a role he worked so hard on. It’s a great blessing to know that he wants the series to continue and that the tv network (Starz) wants me to make the role mine instead of trying to fill his shoes,” Liam said in January.
