People evacuated from Chile

A 7,1 seism shocked the centre of Chile during Sunday afternoon, specialists considered the quake as strong as the one that occurred in 2010. The current event left 14 wounded and close to 25,000 people evacuated due to the risk of a tsunami.

In the region of Maule, a total of 11 people were wounded; while in the Metropolitan region two people suffered injuries. In the Biobio, one people was hurt according to Miguel Ortiz, the National Emergencies Office chief (Onemi for its Spanish acronym).

ONEMI informed that so far 18 replicas have been registered after the Sunday seism, the strongest one reached a magnitude of 4,7. Around 8,000 were affected by electric cuts; however it has already been reintegrated.
